During these periods, conditions are usually more favorable for game drives, walking safaris, and climbing Mount Meru. Clearer skies can also provide better views of Mount Meru and, on suitable days, Mount Kilimanjaro.

The park can be visited throughout the year, although rainfall can make some trails and roads wetter during the rainy seasons.

Accessibility

Arusha National Park is conveniently located approximately 32 kilometres northeast of Arusha city, making it one of the most accessible national parks in northern Tanzania.

The park can generally be reached by road from Arusha in about an hour, depending on the starting point and road conditions. Its proximity to Arusha makes it suitable for day trips as well as longer northern Tanzania safari itineraries.

Visitors arriving through Kilimanjaro International Airport can also include Arusha National Park as part of a broader Tanzania safari itinerary.
